Where are the bears? (Part 3)

Merry Christmas from Perky and pals!

Good news, Santa has been!
And Wahlbear got his wish!

There was only one problem. I couldn’t find him again! Now where could Wahlbear be?

I checked with Dr Lady. Thought it was worth a shot. She said yes she had seen him and they had had a little chat and she likes his new name. Says it suits him as he always fancied himself as a bit of a Hollywood star. Couldn’t have put it better myself!

So off I trotted again to see if I could locate him. Burns off the Christmas calories I suppose.

There’s Wahlbear!

Makes perfect sense if you think about it! But then he asked me whether we could call Santa back this evening as he obviously wants some golf clubs. I told him absolutely not, but I said I would have a word with Dr Lady to see if she will treat him to some in the sales.

I have a sneaky suspicion Wahlbear is going to be as demanding as he ever was!

Where are the bears? (Part 2)

Leaving Beau behind to enjoy the party season, I ventured back into the house to find Oubear. He couldn’t have gone far. Dr Lady had probably depleted those chocolate supplies by now I thought, so I knew I had to hurry.

Not far away I found my first clue.

Oubear had been here recently!

Phew! Oubear is near and Dr Lady is also not a monster. I was beginning to worry as Marshmallow and I hadn’t seen the bears for a while, but it sounds like they were having fun.

So off I trekked again. I checked under the Christmas tree because that’s where the presents are, but he wasn’t there. I chatted to a couple of my buddies and what they told me was very illuminating.

((Bad jokes come as standard))

Turns out a bear fitting Oubear’s description had passed by not so long ago. He said he was just on a walk as he was pondering what present he wanted from Santa. As he was having difficulty he said he was going to find a pal called Perky, who also liked pondering, to help him.

That’s me! I exclaimed.

Off I trotted and would you believe it he was where I usually sit all day long, catching up with Marshmallow.

There is the bear!

We chatted for a few minutes and I told him of my adventure. And that’s when he told me he was having trouble deciding what he wanted from Santa. It’s always a tough one deciding what to get for Christmas, but I had an idea. Whilst I understood now that Dr Lady hadn’t imprisoned him, I wondered whether his name was no longer appropriate and maybe he could ask Santa for a new name. What a splendid idea he said!

So we pondered some more about what name could be appropriate and Marshmallow, being the intelligent lady bear she is, whispered in Oubear’s ear. Perfect he said!

So Oubear wrote a second letter to Santa.

We have left it with the other one and are now waiting for Santa this evening to make his dream come true…

Where are the bears? (Part 1)

So it’s been quite a while – years in fact! – since I wrote a blog post story. So much has happened I’m not going to fill you in on, but think this alternative Christmas tale deserves a post. Plus Dr Lady has branched out into writing so I’ve got to keep up and motivate her a little.

Over the last few weeks I have been developing a cunning plan to free the bears from the top of the bookshelf where Dr Lady imprisoned them. Okay maybe not quite imprisoned, but you get my meaning. Bears are not for bookshelves!

Today was the day because I thought if I didn’t we might all be on Santa’s naughty list and that is not good.

First I went trekking in the kitchen to find supplies (why she has a rainforest in the kitchen I’ve no idea).
And then a friend gave me some chocolate to distract the Dr Lady.
But shock horror. After my ascent up the stairs, which I can tell you is not easy with these short legs, I found the bears were already gone! (That’s Mitt by the way)

Well it turns out they had heard about my cunning plan and thought how marvellous it was and so they decided to come and meet me. Not exactly the swashbuckling adventure I had imagined, but never mind.

I found Ike and Maverick making the most of the holidays, relaxing and taking it easy. They did not want to be disturbed.
I had missed Beau somehow on my travels as I found her in the kitchen ready for party season in her posh frock, but also Christmas, and wrapped up warm for the weather. Beau does like to be prepared for all eventualities.

She hadn’t seen Oubear though since they departed. She said he had got very excited and run off somewhere. Now where is that bear?
